About PMPC

The Center of Excellence for Precision Medicine in Pediatric Care (PMPC) is an advanced research and healthcare initiative dedicated to transforming pediatric medicine through precision diagnostics, targeted therapies, and cutting-edge research.

Established at the Children’s Clinical University Hospital (CCUH) in Riga, PMPC collaborates with leading European institutions, including the Princess Máxima Center—the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe.  

With support from the Horizon Europe WIDERA program, PMPC is building research infrastructure, including a genomics and data analysis unit, biobank and a clinical trial center. PMPC mission is to enhance the understanding of complex pediatric diseases, improve treatment outcomes, and foster international knowledge exchange.

PURPOSE

The new CoE aims to develop and implement precision medicine approaches for diagnosis and targeted treatment of pediatric diseases, with a focus on improving the lives of children and their families.

OBJECTIVE

The aim of Teaming for Excellence action is to establish a new research Centre of Excellence for precision medicine in pediatric care (PMPC) at CCUH campus in Latvia, by boosting research and innovation capacity, strengthening partnerships and sustainable collaborations with Europe’s leading institute in pediatric precision medicine.
